Overeating during stressful times may be caused by a vitamin deficiency. Depression has been linked, in part to a deficiency in B vitamins, this why it is important to eat mostly whole foods rather than processed foods, which have less B vitamins. I have found that when I eat whole foods, I snack a great deal less and I do not overeat.
Positive thinking can improve your overall wellbeing (physically, emotionally, and spiritually). All diseases have some psychosomatic effects. Psychosomatic comes from the Greek words psyche (mind) and soma (body). What we believe goes into the mind before it moves into the body. Every thought and emotion affects every cell in the body and everything that happens to the body also affects the mind, this is called mind-body interaction.
We are social beings and maintaining healthy relationships can enhance our overall wellbeing. Learning how to love unconditionally can be challenging but possible. Start by releasing the need to control others in order to feel better. Focus on the good in others while allowing a sense of freedom. Always look for the positive aspects of the relationship. We can begin by simply following the Golden Rule: treat others the way you would like to be treated.
Adding regular physical activity to a daily regimen can accelerate weight loss and improve overall health. Start out slowly, 20 to 30 minutes a day, 3 to 4 days a week; eventually working up to 45 minutes a day, 4 to 5 days a week. The key to a successful exercise program is finding an activity you enjoy!

Find what brings you joy or makes your heart sing. Everyday ask what would help you feel better. It could be something as simple as having a cup of tea, spending time in nature, laughing with a loved one, petting your dog, listening to music, or taking a drive. There is no cookie cutter formula, joyous living is as unique as finger prints. So ask yourself daily "what brings me joy?"
